Thank you Cathy and Arjun,

Please also clarify the usage of "From". Mr. Arjun has tried of his best but I need some more explanation.

Regards

"I have been thinking about this point for the last four days."
This sentence is correct. "I have been" is past tense, and "the last four days" is past tense.

"I am thinking about this point from the last four days."

This sentence is incorrect. First of all, "I am thinking about" is present tense which conflicts with "the last four days."

Now, can we say, "I have been thinking about this from the last four days" -- The answer is no. As Arjun briefly explained, "from" is a starting point. If you say "from" then you are referring to one point in time, which is four days ago. But if you are continually thinking about it, then there is no starting point. That means, you cannot use "from"

Hope this clarifies your question.

Hi everyone! :)

Please tell me the meaning of this sentence:"Same ole same ole"

I have just started learning English with General Conversation English, In greeting, I don't understand some sentence clearly. Such as "What have you been up to?", "Same ole same ole".

Who can explain them to me and which situation can we use them? Thanks!
I appreciate your help.
Have fun (^_^) !!!

Hi sangdedi,

Despite not having perfect English, I think you are doing great willing to practice and post things. You are on your way in becoming a fluent English speaker. Keep up the good work.

As for your request, I agree with you. Cathy has recommended to me long time ago that I should put in chatting capabilities. I haven't forgotten and I will do this some time in Spring. Right now, I am working on translating the site into many languages so English learners can have instructions on how to use talkenglish.com in their own language.

Thank you for your feedback and I will continue to make www.talkenglish.com a free site where English learners can improve their English.

Hi Sonia,

I am a teacher. I created this website. I hope you are asking because you like it and not the other way around :)

Here is how I would say it. Looking over your two responses, I can't say they are wrong or not. Many of them can be used interchangably. It just becomes knowing how most natives say it.

1. I am on the bus going home now.
2. I am eating at McDonalds.
3. I am at home doing my homework.
4. I am in the mall shopping for presents.
5. I got sick when I was on the airplane
6. I am in the classroom listening the the teacher
7. I am at the office working
